One of the most important pieces of gear for a photographer is the bag they carry their equipment in. Luckily, I have amassed quite collection! I am obsessed with my @thehouseofflynn bags, for sure. I started with the much beloved Blush Rose Gold Evermore a couple of years ago and it was world-changing! Today, I own so many of @maureenflynnphotos designs, including 4 bag styles, two travel wallets, a camera strap and a gorgeous tulle skirt. Want my honest opinion? The House of Flynn produces quality. Every stitch, every piece of hardware, every foam divider is painstaking made, and it shows. As of right now, these are the only bags I’ll ever carry my precious, memory-preserving gear in. Highly, highly recommend! #thehouseofflynn #hofbags #cherryblossomevermore #blushrosegoldevermore #hofbackpack #camerabag #photographygear #louisianaphotographer #natchitoches #weddingphotographer
Joseph and Krystin were wed on August 26, 2017 in front of their family and friends at the Flora Community Center. The venue is in Flora, a tiny little community just a few miles outside of Natchitoches. It's a sweet country meeting center surrounded by huge trees draped in gorgeous Spanish moss. The inside of the building has wood-paneled walls and quite honestly, there couldn't be a more perfect place for a rustic country wedding.
Krystin chose gorgeous decor pieces like burlap and lace, mason jars, tin, and sunflowers... so many sunflowers. Her colors, navy blue and yellow, fit so well with the rest of her country theme and it turned out perfectly. Navy was the color of both the bridesmaid's dresses as well as the groomsmen neck ties.
Krystin's sunflower bouquet was wrapped in burlap and had a precious photo locket charm with a picture of her mother inside. Krystin's mother couldn't be there in person, but she was definitely present. There was a corner of the stage dedicated to her life and her love for her family and there was a special moment of reflection in her honor.
The cake, a beautiful two-tiered masterpiece created by Kristy Fredieu of Sweet Cakes and Treats by Kristy in Natchitoches, was the perfect centerpiece to a fabulous dessert table filled with cupcakes.
Join me in wishing the Bynog's congratulations and best wishes for a happy marriage!

Alyse got married to the love of her life over the weekend, and among other things, that means I get FINALLY publish the gorgeous bridal portraits we took at Lake Bistineau a couple of months ago.
Listen, the mosquitoes most definitely knew we were there that day and we had to fight them off, but I think what we got was plenty worth it.
Her lacey dream-of-a-dress was perfectly fitted, and her pearl jewelry added a refined touch.
I absolutely loved her braided half-updo and subtle smokey eye look.
Best wishes and congratulations, Alyse! Have a long and happy marriage!

Ashley and Johnathan Rose have the absolute sweetest family and friends. Their gorgeous wedding at Artspace was very eclectic and cool. We were surrounded by these insane and interesting art exhibits on each floor, including some really intricate and colorful Mardi Gras Indian suits in the reception area.
I had never been to Artspace before, but now I really want to go back!
Ashley picked a gorgeous sunny yellow and cool grey color palette for her event and it is so beautiful. I cannot get over how sweet her tea-length, retro-vibe wedding gown was. The beading and lace and shape were absolutely made for her.
Join me in congratulating and wishing them a happy marriage!

My gorgeous sister-in-law is expecting the arrival of a baby girl any day now-- no, that's not an exaggeration, little Ada Della will be here at any time.
It wasn't too long ago that Kimberly and I were planning to do a maternity portrait session when she was pregnant with Ava. Ava-- being the little adorable diva she is-- had completely different plans. We missed the window for her portraits, and we had our hearts set on not missing this opportunity.
Kimberly, her husband Cory and sweet little Ava, met up with me and we drove up to Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, Louisiana.
Our vision for the shoot was that unmistakable Louisiana vibe with it's cypress trees and Spanish moss, and while Natchitoches parish has plenty of that, it's not as accessible as Lake Bistineau's classic beauty.
I think the pink lace dress was my favorite because it worked so well with both Kimi's skintone and the gorgeous pastel greens and greys of the grass and moss as the Sun was almost completely gone.
The wait to meet this sweet, sweet baby is almost over. I cannot wait to be an aunt to two girls. Oh, the fun we'll have!
Sunflower fields are so beautiful, and in my opinion, the ones in Northwestern Louisiana are the best. Just a few miles outside of Shreveport is a patch that comes up every summer. Courtney drove us out there and we played for a little while until the mosquitoes got so incredibly bad we had to leave.
Courtney just started a dream job: she gets to work with animals. Although I'm really happy that she's finally able to put her degree from Northwestern State University to a great use, I'm really sad she won't be working alongside me any longer. We've worked together for basically 6 years and we've been roomies a couple of times. I'm going to miss her vibrant and nerdy nature that will not be sitting a few desks down, but at least she gets to do what she loves. I'm counting on her Snaps to get me through.
The beautiful guitar is named Ambi, and it's one of Courtney's most prized possessions. I'm glad she brought Ambi with her on our adventure. I think she fits in really well here.
I'm a story-teller first, photographer second. The love stories my clients hire me to capture are modern fairy tales.
I live in Natchitoches Parish, pronounced "knack-uh-tish" for y'all out-of-towners. I'm surrounded by fantasy novel-status Spanish moss and live on a spacious amount of acreage with my loving husband and our pets.
I photograph the now for the future, focusing on the intimate moments and the details that you'll recall for years to come.
