Each spring, there is a nest full of chirping baby birds in our carport. They're super cute and fluffy for a while, then they grow up and fly away.
I live in the literal middle of nowhere. As you might know, in the middle of nowhere, the lights are scarce and you can actually see the night sky. I've grown up searching for the Big Dipper, Orion, Leo and their friends. It's all so familiar to me. So, after the torrential rains and the wicked flash flooding in Natchitoches parish (along with most of the state,) I trudged out to my front yard and captured these.
I had the opportunity to hang out with a couple of my fellow Cane River Photographic Society members and photograph Joshua. He graciously volunteered to model for us on Front Street in Natchitoches.
These are two of the sweetest, kindest souls I have ever met. Just so happens, they will be my future sister- and brother-in-law!
Y'all remember those MULTIPLE snow days Louisiana was blessed with earlier this year, right? On the last one, Kimi and Cory came over to my home and let me do a few portraits with them in front of our red barn.
I met up with Jasmine and her adorably independent son, Ezekiel, for some mother & son portraits in Natchitoches.
